OK so my idler pulley went about a week ago so got her changed out.It has been going for the past 4 months really, but it go so bad that i could pull it off with my hand almost. Since replacing it seems it no longer struggles to get up to par like it used when the idler pulley started to go. Just wondering how the idler pulley play a role in performance?Dumb question i know, but i was curious? Thanks guys.
I gotcha man.Ya i pulled the idler pulley off and oh ya it was toast.the bearings weren't even really there anymore, the inside ring was melted off in 2 pieces and there were melted points in the inside of the pulley itself.
At least it wasnt the motor itself. Ive noticed the last couple days that mine has an odd sound around 2k rpm. It sounds like a slight knock when your inside the cab but you cant hear it outside the truck. I tired to get a video, but you cant hear it.... It wouldnt surprise me if my motor went. I have never babied it and its seen 6 grand more than a few times. Oh well...
I want at least 300k out of it. If it goes before then, I wont complain. Its been the most reliable vehicle I have owned. I bought it in 05 with 79k. Mileage as of 9/21/11-- 213,664 Hard to believe but I have only replaced power steering pump heater core upper and lower ball joints idler arm 2 COP had a plug blow out the head and right now it needs a fuel pump.
I'll be happy if it gets 300k. I guess its time to be easy on the ole girl...hahaha no...its built ford tough and can handle my lead foot....
It hasnt been babied thats for sure. Just today, it seen the rev limiter. The way I figure is it will either hit the limiter or blow the fugg up.
