Should I trade my Ford for this Chevy??

    I got a friend with an 05 1500 on 35's and its a beast! Trucks amazing! Haha im just saying i'd do it. If it brakes in half which it wont, weld it and sell it. Heck my dash creeks sometimes haha

    His truck has never seen mud. For some resason, water got to the rear one. It was rusted as shat

    Well your buddy's truck is an exception to the story. Every one I know that's owned newer Chevy trucks has had problems with them. As far as interior quality, my dad's 89 we bought new had the stereo snappped loose the day I drove it home from the dealership with him. That's not a lie either, we went over a set of railroad tracks and "pop" the cassette deck popped loose.

    I personally wouldn't trade, but I really have a dislike for Chevy's and that bodystyle in particular. Abe's truck may not have the lift and rims the Chevy has, but I'd rather have a stock Ford then a custom Chevy all day!

    Thanks Thomas.....I will post pics of the cv joints just for sh!ts and giggles later....but I'm now leaning towards a no go.

    I've got a buddy that ordered a new 05 crew cab at the same time that I ordered my truck. It was his dream truck.

    He kept it for 18 months and traded it for an 01 Tahoe. That Silverado had one problem after another. Broken steering parts, cab flex that made the roof audibly pop (also cracked the seams and made it leak water), intake leaks, electrical problems.. all kinds of stuff.

    Yah everyone see's things differently. My dad worked at chevy for half his automotive career and ford the other. Ive always asked him which he thought was better and he said basically same quality truck. Each one has its ups and downs, but when you get down to it there both good trucks. It just depends on how you take care of em. I guess im just neutral when it comes to ford vs chevy cause i like em both.

    Don't get me wrong, I like certain Chevy trucks myself. I just know my experience with the body style Abe is looking at and it isn't good.

    Theres a recall for the cluster but it's 60k miles or less.

    My dads chevy has that problem, i went through such a mission with that damn truck and chevy did nothing about it. They actually extended the allowance for the mileage but it was to the dealers discretion. We fell under the allowed mileage but we were second owners so they never fixed it. His cluster says you are doing 120mph at 500rmp with no oil pressure.
