Go to drain the radiator and surprise, the end of the drain plug breaks off. The plastic becomes brittle after years of heating cycles. This plug is the same part # on our 2001 3.0 Ranger, 2000 7.3 PSD F250 and by parts cross reference numbers is the same on a 2001 F150 with a 4.6 liter. I found a "Motormite" replacement # 61127 for $3.89 plus tax at a local replacement parts store. The old broken off plug can be removed with a 1/4 hex socket or the end of a flat blade screwdriver that is similar in size, be ready with a catch pan or bucket for the antifreeze flood coming from the drain plug fitting.
