I hear ya. My truck is a grocery getter 80% of the time too...I'd be way better off having a little beater car to run around in and save the truck for truck stuff
i used to own a 96 ranger 2wd 5 spd 2.3l reg cab short bed. i loved that truck, honestly i wish i would have never sold it. i bought it with 20k miles and sold it four years later with 200k on it. it ran better the day i sold it than the day i bought it. only thing i did to it was battery, alternator, tires, and brakes. i put that little truck to work every day. i worked construction at the time and it hauled all my tools and supplies most of the time. i averaged around 24mpg's and would get up to 27mpg's on long trips with the wind at my back. don't hesitate to get one. the first one you posted is nice, wish i could find one to run around in too, but nothing that good looking that cheap around here. i hate driving cars too, stick to getting a truck. you can't go wrong with an older ranger.
Well that black 88 is sold, but I emailed the guy with the 98. And I'm still on the look out Sent from my iThingy using Tapatalk
You should look into a 97 reg cab 2wd like mine. With the 4.2L There are alot out there for cheap, you can get a nice one for cheap, i get 17-19 most of the time. Granted when i drive like a bat out of hell it goes lower than that, but You could lift it with some spindles and boom you got a nice work truck/ play truck. Now i know you said 25-30 so that would be the con i guess.
yeah, Im getting 17-20 right now. but its diesel, so it costs a bit more. im looking to get around 30 mpgs. it would have to be 30+ or it wouldnt be worth it. there are a few cars im considering, but im holding out for a ittle truck. I like the mazda rx7s, but im unfamiliar with the rotary engines. I like 70s celicas, and 60s-70s vw bugs. i fear the big would be more play than anything, a cool baha project is what im afraid it would turn into and thats not my goal right now. it would be fun, but projects cost money instead of saving ha ha.
1995 Mazda B2300 pickup lots of new parts 150k miles cute cruiser going to look at this guy tomorrow.... if its still there ha ha. I called him a couple of hours ago, said someone was coming to look at it tonight, cons are: no tabs, needs a new ignition switch, and no stereo. he said 1200 would get it. Im thinking offering 1100 because of the cons... he said it does have headers though... on a 2.3 ha ha.
