yeah i mean the purpose of the stock intake is to draw in "colder" air from the fender well not hot engine air. you can barely get air from the engine bay anyways. The problem with the stock intake is just like stock exhaust, It restricts too much airflow which is why you do this and the Gotts mod.
idk about the cold air business. My JLT (which sucks in as much hot air as any other) reads 10* above ambient while driving, same as stock....
Lol outside air is outside air no matter where you live. Think about how much air is going into your engine bay at 65mph, its not spending enough time in there to warm up enough to make a difference. Now when I'm parked or idling... then I've seen intake temps 70* over ambient...
