Run your vehicle and home air conditioning every now and then even in the winter. This circulates the freon and PAG oil in the system, preventing o-rings from drying out which reduces leaks that can lead to problems in the summer when you need it to work. Avoid several hundred dollar repairs by cycling the A/C even in winter.
In the Southeast we get enough warm days in the Fall and Winter months that the A/C gets used. Great tip though.
This is the 1st Winter in a couple of years where it's actually been cold. The past 5 years or so have had really mild Winters to be honest.
Dude, I'm freaking ready for this chit to be over. We're looking at highs in the mid 60's next week though!
The Sunny South: ....a good reminder; however, I've long made a habit of cycling the AC at least once a week whether it needs it or not. The wife and I are thinking about moving to sandy, I mean sunny, Florida where it's warm in the winter-time.
