Yeah, the SAS is excatly what I'm looking to do but, I'm thinking about going to 8 lug because I'm strongly considering doing a diesel swap later on. I'm gonna look up the SAS but, can you(SolidF150) send any info you hae on the way you did yours? I've found good prices on 250 front differentials and the t case looking for good deals on the drive shafts now.
What kind of diesel swap are you looking at the f150 engine bay is very small, also any question or thoughts send a PM my way. Also the axle must be HP for the angle for the driveshaft. Plans being leafs for the swap?
if your going 2wd to 4wd youll need a different tranny too. theyre different lengths on each one. i think it would be a fun project but be sure your not gonna lose motivation half way through and be stuck with a truck without a frontend youre trying to get rid of
So are you still doing it???? If you have a welder and enough metal you can make anything! All it takes is time and money!
I will be following this thread closely! I also have a 2003 F150 2wd and WILL be doing the SAS. I am hoping to start collecting the parts very soon and start the build by this time next year. Same set up as you, Dana 60s front and rear, leafs, but I think I will do a divorced 205 and if I can find one for the right price upgrade to a 4R100 trans. Good luck man!
Ha ha yeah, a lot of guys realize this is too much of an ordeal and trade for a 4x4 ha ha. Not sure if that's what's happened here. Not sure I've ever seen a 4x4 conversion actually happen. Sent from your Mom's house using Tapatalk
