The cross drilling can actually strengthen the rotor as it helps with harmonic vibrations, any high performance rotor is either cross drilled or slotted or both an none have strength issues

I have seen cross drilled rotors with extreme heat cracking, to the point of missing chunks...true, not on a F150...but you add the weight of a truck and maybe a trailer , suddenly your trying to stop 7-9000 lbs...now add going down hill :driver:and need to turn fast to avoid a youngster....er what ever, & the cross drill hole could act as a natural break point under certain circumstances.

NOw for sure...I do not know what brand of cross drilled rotors that I saw and I'm sure the location and quantity of cross drilled holes plays a large roll into if they would be prone to fracturing or several heat cracks ...like all things initial quality of the product is huge here.

to be fair I'm sure there are some very good brake rotors that are cross drilled that are most excellent in quality and durability....they just are not worth the "upgrade price", IMHO, & one set of very bad set of cross drill rotors shouldn't represent the whole field...but they just won't be on my truck

You can't base or conclude stuff about a design based on cheap product. A quality rotor will have absolutely no issues

Powerslot cryo rotors. theyre slotted and not drilled and wont warp. Drilled can crack easier and actually decrease the stopping area on the rotor

dimbles or slotted i would agree to be of better design.
& like all things if it worth the extra price of high quality item...the manufacture will stand behind it with a better than average warranty.
