My son has this ...project...yes a 82' or 84' f150 that is currently down to the frame. most or all major parts are here , just waiting for better weather and time. SOO...the plan is to stick a 08' Crown Vic p71 front sub frame under the nose and maybe the rear as well....just depending if the CV rear has been damaged too badly? ( we haven't gotten the CV torn down yet. It spun out last winter and took out a sizable pole on the drivers side rear quarter, just behind the rear wheel). I was just curious if anyone has tripped up this trail before?? Or is this a un-blazed trail?
Sounds like an awesome project. I haven't heard of the PI Vic front suspension in an early 80 's F150 but it may have been done before. Galaxy S4 Cetane Powered Android
Check out Ford-trucks website. The crown Vic swap is pretty popular. One guy used the entire frame and running gear and just dropped the truck on it.
thanks...its been done to older f150 or f100 on Gas Monkey Garage but that was on like a 69 or 70' I think my son is thinking that it will improve handling and braking better , plus he'll have something unusal
You're right, most of the swaps I found were the late 60s-early 70s. But there is still some really good info on how to do it. http://www.fordification.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=47610&sid=757a9c9604666bc9c21d01b1a326a884 http://www.fordification.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=54398 http://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1172345-lowering-my-78-f150-and-crown-vic-suspension-swap.html
