This is kind of a "Part two" to the Gotts mod that helps increase throttle response and a tad bit of power at higher RPM's, and of course a slight change in tone. The purpose of the 3 silencers or "Chambers" is to catch some of the air flow and help quiet down the intake. This is how i did it.

Step one is to take the intake elbow out. duh (don't forget the 10mm bolt holding it on)
This isn't mine but it's the stock intake with the 3 chambers and no Gotts mod

Step two is to cut the chambers off. Be sure to leave enough of the holes to be able to plug them. I accidently cut one of mine all the way down so it made plugging the hole a little harder.

    You should get this:

Next step is getting something to plug the holes with. two of the holes measure 1-1/4" ID and the bigger hole measures 1-5/8" ID. I took a trip to home depot and found a perfect 1-5/8" sink plug and some 1-1/4" plastic plugs

Next is to put in the plugs into the 3 holes. I also applied clear silicone around the edges to make sure it wouldn't leak air.

Get some black spray paint and paint the intake and slap it in.:peace:

They are a bit different. Just a lot of random looking boxes on the side of the intake tube.

Has this been dyno proven to do anything?

It just looks cleaner and makes it a little louder. The baffles just reduce the harmonics of the air going into the intake.

    Nice job :peace:

:jester: I don't own a dyno ... but you know know what they say. this and the gotts mod and a K&N filter throws better numbers than a true CAI. or so i've heard, It's basically a cold air intake without a giant filter sticking out in the engine sucking in hot engine air.

I'm thinking of taking my JLT off and going back to that setup....
Tired of driving slowly through puddles :jester:
