04 Transmission Range Sensor

04 Transmission Problems

My bros trans is actin up .... when the OD is on and your goin down the road in shifts to neutral .... but u can turn the OD off and its fine .... called the ford dealer and they said range sensor or the coil inside the trans .... anybody had a similar prob?

 

Ive never heard of a coil being inside a trans. Wonder what the correct name of that part is....

 

idk , but im leanin toward it bein the range sensor

overdrive snap ring is broke , $3000 fix

 

I had that same ring break.. cost me $1600

yep... It was cheaper to pickup a refurb tranny and put in.

 

junkyard here has one for $660

 

clement said its the snap ring is broken.......will cost $300-350 to fix.....im carrying it thurs mornin and it will be rdy friday
