^^^agreed but either way will be sweet!! im sure in the woodlands theres a 4x4 thats been rear ended you could get
i could see myself taking a week vacation, havin my buddy take a week as well, w/ some boot from me for the help, and i think we could knock it out in 7-10 days, workin atleast 10 hr days on it. I don't see it taking months if I did it that way, which is the only way I would do it. Like you said, I hate being w/out my truck. I mean, after I pull my trans, ecu driveshaft & lca's, everything else is install right? figured we could get the new trans, transfer, and rear driveshaft installed in 1 day. the front axle and driveshaft the next day. few days to run solenoids/vac lines. does my time table not sound doable? I priced a new truck, w/ my trade, and i just don't want to be shelling out $500/mo after I JUST got this one paid ya know. thats my only reason of wanting to go this route: i have a damn good rig, just needs 4wd to be a great rig.
The plans you have are very hopefull but I have rarely got into this situation and things ever go as planned. I'm not trying to be a negative nelly here but you must weigh all the factors. And as much as I love trucks I wouldn't burn up 7 days of my vacation for that I think the option of trading plus some boot to a individual (the only way I roll now because dealers suck) is a easier option. Or even trade into a nice 7.3 4x4 that I know you'd love.
i hear ya brother. and i appreciate the skepticism. honestly. keeps me grounded. i guess i'll keep this list going, and when I got the boot, see if I can get a nice trade-up, or just build up my rig. thanks!
