how much would dual straight pipes be if i were to take of the muffler and just run an extension, or would just a straight pipe be a lot less expensive?

Just a straight pipe would be cheaper since there is less labor and materials. Your best bet would be to call some local shops to get quotes

Least expensive would be just cut ur muffler off and weld in some pipe in its place

you could go the route I went and just spend a little dough and have someone tig weld up a custom exhaust check out my build thread under general discussion.

If you want true duals you'll have to sawzall at the y-pipe and finagle something to connect them and run them all the way out.
Or cut off the muffler and run a straight pipe all the way out and put a dual tip on it.

If you want a full on custom dual, check out this guys setup. Only one I've ever seen like it
