I have this mod posted on another forum, but I thought a repeat of the information here would be of benefit: The series of pictures tells it all. The materials are: 1-24" length of 1/8"x 1-1/2" aluminum bar stock. 10-pop rivets. 10- 6-32 x 3/8" #2 Philips pan-head screws. 10-aluminum washers to go between pop rivets and shroud. 10-fiber washers to go between screw heads and shroud. The shroud is cut using a 24 tooth hacksaw blade mounted in a single-blade handle. The cuts are started at the outside edge and continued to the rim, but the rim is not cut through until the brackets are installed in order to maintain alignment of the shroud pieces. The brackets are twisted end-to-end so they lie flat on the shroud, drilled to clear the pop rivets and tapped for the 6-32 screws.
Shroud Mod Continued: Shroud mod pics: The top section of the shroud is easily removed by removing the ten screws. The bottom section comes right out if need be after removing the two mounting bolts. Ease of access to the front of the engine is vastly improved.
