How to on painting axles?

    I would just clean it and paint it. It's going to be filthy and chipping in no time again anyway unless it is a garage queen. Why go to all of the trouble of sanding and priming?

    I just spray mine with foaming tire cleaner/dressing and it looks brand new until I drive it in the rain. (that's a tip for you guys inside the fenderwells, too. makes a dirty mess look factory new)

    Prep work is what keeps it from chipping..id rather not have good looking paint with chips.. then it looks worse than not painted

    i cleaned and sanded and primed mine, paint held up threw winter great there some small spots showing but the majority is good sorry its dirty in the pictures

    I never used primer or sanded it on my s10 and it went in the mud hole every day I used rustoleum high heat

    It held up well never had to touch it up. But use primer and sand it if you want
