as some of you guys already know i have been building a lightbar for my truck similar to the smittybilt street light bar or the n-fab equivilant. thanks to watson91, i got all the measurements and the design that i needed to build it. he has this thread going that inspired me: http://www.fordfullsize.com/forum/f72/light-bar-build-1509/ all i had to do was tweak a few measurements and with the help of my brother and solidworks, got everything mapped out well before i started. i'm not going to be like someone on here, *cough* backwoods *cough*, and tease you with no pics. i have to drill the mounting holes and pick up another can of bedliner, which btw is the shiz, and mount it up today. going to be searching for lights also and drill those holes once i know the exact clearance i need for the lights. what do you guys think? to throw it out there, jesse was supposed to build me one and then my boss and i ended up buying a welder so i said fug it, i'll try it myself. i think it turned out pretty good
materials and cost: 1.25" .102 thickness x 8' (only 48" used but got the longer length in case i fd something up) $25 end caps (because i was too lazy to make some) $8 (pack of 10) i already had the 1/4" plate leftover from a job so that's what i used for the mounting arms and light tabs paint say $15 divide it all out and my bar was made for less than $30 a lot cheaper than buying one for $100+
haha jesse. just got back from getting more bedliner for the final coat and searching for hellas. nobody has them. i got my last pair from walmart and i have checked 2 separate stores for them now with no luck. autozone, advance and oriellys don't have them either. anybody know where to get them at a good price online? i want to stick with the 500s so all mine match. 2 can be fogs and the other two driving. amazon is the cheapest i have found so far.
