Ok guys i need some help here.

I was at the gas station earlier, and locked the truck while running via keypad to go in. I come back out, and the key pad doesnt work, and the truck proceeds to die. I get a locksmith to come out to open the door, and the truck wont start. Jumped the truck and it idled for about a minute and then died again. I was able to limp it back home, but it took three jumps to get there (only went 1.5 miles)

So, im pretty sure my alternator is out, and my battery is probably drained as well.

Can someone tell me how to replace an alternator?

Well I got everything off except the little harness that plugs into the back of the alter alternator. I tried sticking a small screwdriver in there to free it, but no dice. Any ideas?

I wish I could find one...it wouldn't solve my problem but it would at least entertain me for awhile

This is assuming the alternator on 04-08 is close to the same setup as the 97-03

But there should be 2 connectors to take loose.. pretty basic connector just lift the tab up and pull up..

Then one wire with a rubber boot on it.. Push the rubber boot off and theres a nut you have to take off..

Hope it helps.. sorry if pics suck.. I had to go out there and take em with my phone and a flashlight lol..

before my truck died, i also noticed i was idling around 900 RPMs. Do yall think a bad alternator could be a cause of this?
