clean surface with soap and water (gets all the dirt and stuff off)...tape off...took a scotch brite finishing pad and scuffed the paint until it had a dull finish....wipe down with plenty of acetone to make sure surface is clean. used painters plastic to protect from overspray. wiped with acetone again just to make sure its clean...sprayed it on allowing 20 min between coats for a total of 3 coats. didnt pull tape until 12-14 hrs later. i didnt use any primer and im glad i didnt waste my money on it..this stuff will stick to anything. scuffing the surface gives it a good texture for the bedliner to cling to.
it aint illegal. my tails are tinted 3 coats (2 light, 1 mild) and I have never gotten a ticket for them when being pulled over for other things (speeding, inspection, reg). now using it to completely blacken your lights out... thats when it gets illegal. by law you should still be able to clearly see your brakelights on a sunny day. if you can't and you get re-ended, guess who just paid for both trucks?
yea id say im pretty familiar with the laws in my state...lol as long as they are visible is all that matters...im thinkin just a few light coats and it would look good
