thoughts on an suv

jeeps are notorious for trannies and not being worth a darn after 100k. i would stay away if i were you. nothing wrong with an explorer, great vehicle imo.

 

I dig the sport tracs, I wouldnt mind picking up a one with high mileage for a little runner when im sick of parking my tuna boat ha ha.
I love my truck but the holidays are coming and parking that beast at the local wally world is going to be a PITFA!

 

the main reason i was leaning more towards a grand over a reg. cherokee was the reg cherokee just seems small, its square and boxy and the interior just seems dated, it would be a good pick for a crawler, to where the grand is a little fancier

and after doing more searching last night i'm leaning back towards the explorer, they just have alot more style then the jeeps, gonna be a 2nd gen, like the 3rd gen but dont like the lack of a solid rear axle, all in all tho, i'm still not even sure if i wanna sell my truck or not

 

I wouldn't sell your truck, but yeah I would pick up something to replace that small a$$ escort you got.

 

you need to have faith in your truck dood. i had an 88 that was beat to hell and ran down the road every day. in fact i had it in the ditch more times that i can remember, worked construction out of that truck. hauled anything and everything and it never quit. in fact the harder i ran it the better it ran. it's a truck, it aint gotta be perfect it just needs to get you from point a to point b. it's built ford tough for a reason.

 

did some reading on edmunds, for the 2001 era grand, the tranny and brakes were mentioned and people either loved it or hated, the 1996 era had better ratings and for the 2nd gen explorer the tranny was mentioned, which i knew overall was good tho, it seems like tho any vehicle you look up there are always bad things to be said,

at this point i'm probly gonna hang on to both vehicles

 

A sport trac would be a nice little rig, and still give you a bed

as of right now i'm keeping the truck and the car, for one i've got too much time and money in the truck and two we just drove all over BFE today lookin at car lots in my car and hardly used any gas, the only thing i love bout that damn car haha

and my buddy is gettin pissy with me cuz he's buyin a jeep and sellin his truck and wants me to do the same, too bad haha
